The village of Tremont is a small municipality in Central Illinois with no shortage of small town charm. Its outdated website, however, wasn’t providing a user-experience as friendly as the village employees doing their best to maintain it.
Prior to working with Hancock.Build, Tremont’s village staff was not able to use their website to collaborate with residents on standard operations conducted by local government. The site’s look and feel was not inviting to residents, prospective residents, or those interested in doing business in Tremont. Hosted on a complicated platform that required extensive IT know-how, information shared on the site was extremely difficult for village staff to maintain.
The overall look of the site was not appealing to visitors and any additions or revisions to the webpage were nearly impossible for our staff to maintain or change.

The Need
The village needed a clean and easy-to-use site that would offer residents and non-residents a welcoming impression. The site needed to be home to an array of publicly available documents like building permits and zoning codes. And, those documents would need to be easily changeable by village staff when they were edited or updated.
As a local government, sharing information with the public is essential. Tremont’s website needed a comprehensive document archive where important files—such as meeting minutes, ordinances, and permits—could be easily accessed.
The Solution
Hancock Build provided ideas for the look and design of our new site. Throughout the entire process, they provided updates and sought our input. We received a fresh new look with their ideas and our suggestions.

The website for the village of Tremont is designed to serve three key audiences: current residents, prospective residents, and potential new businesses. Hancock.Build created an intuitive interface accessible on both mobile and desktop devices that gives site visitors a fresh look at what the village has to offer. We also created a simple, fully searchable document archive that allows users to preview and download documents effortlessly from any device.
On the back end, the site enables various village entities to share content on an easy-to-use, unified platform without gaining access to other areas of the site. This secure, collaborative environment ensures the public is always equipped with up-to-date resources and news.
We assumed any revisions or adjustments to the site were very challenging for a non computer person to perform. Hancock.Build changed that completely.
